SM: Can you share your journey into the world of e-commerce, web development, and digital marketing, and what motivated you to pursue this career path?
I was a schoolteacher for more than 10 years. Usually, I was teaching at very low performance schools, and I could see how talent, natural talent could work even in very negative environments. But, of course, if the environment is not encouraging and cooperative nobody can reach his full potential, neither students nor teachers. Therefore, although I love education, I could see that I couldn’t offer more to myself and my students.
During my work as teacher, I was working on the side in several mini projects as developer and marketer. And I could see that I was better than many experienced professionals who were working for years in digital agencies. Therefore, I decided to pivot, and start a digital agency myself. Anveto Marketers is web agency based in Athens and London with annual growth more than 50% year over year.
SM: As someone deeply involved in IT solutions, what are some guiding principles or philosophies that shape your approach to business development?
AV: This is a great question because in the business world everything is about development, business development. Today, all companies are technology companies one way or another. Consequently, any business owner who asks for growth should invest in digital marketing and branding as well as in digital transformation of his business. Digital branding is the way to boost your sales and reputation which are equally important as the quality of your product and services. In real world, business development depends on the quality of your product and your ability to market and sell.
SM: With extensive experience in web development, what trends or advancements do you anticipate shaping the future of online commerce and digital marketing?
AV: Online commerce is a trend with double digit annual growth year over year, for the last five years. eCommerce is an effective sales channel if you have strong technical expertise and, also, you can differentiate your business from competition. Therefore, online commerce is about business acumen too. But internet is a fast-paced environment which changes constantly. For example, artificial intelligence will change content marketing and digital marketing because its analytical power is beyond any human imagination. Content creation, searching, product recommendation, performance marketing will change completely because of AI tools.

SM: Your work emphasizes the significance of branding and marketing growth in e-commerce. Could you discuss some strategies or insights for establishing a strong brand presence in the digital marketplace?
AV: Businesses should use video and quality content. As it is said content is king, but I would say it’s even more than that – content is the kingdom! Internet is a very noisy place, and old school marketing doesn’t work anymore. Content creators will dominate this era and not performance marketers. So, a company should invest in content creation and highly customized ecommerce platforms.
SM: How do you differentiate your services in a competitive industry, and what unique value do you offer to your clients?
AV: We are an award-winning digital agency focused on design, development, and content creation. Nowadays, digital landscape is very competitive, however we are in a creative industry. Meaning that there is always room for creativity to differentiate yourself. But it is important to understand early that the point is not to be different for the sake of being different. We are different because we think and act differently, we are different because we can see trends early enough so as to get value from their development.
SM: As a data analyst involved in market research and analytics, how do you utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and foster business growth?
AV: We analyze trends and their patterns. This is our strategy in market research and data analysis. And trends are strongly correlated with human behavior as individuals and as social human beings. However, there are fast and slow trends, short-term and long-term trends, as well as false trends. But keep in mind that nobody knows in advance the development of a trend. In practice, the ability to jump early in a train makes you different as individual, as marketer and as a businessman.
SM: Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future of your work in this field, and how do you plan to continue innovating and driving success?
AV: We will continue to innovate and do our best for our customers. I recently read an interview of John Sculley, former CEO of Apple, who was saying that «I was coming from the world of big businesses and corporations, I wasn’t able to appreciate the passion of founders».
